The CSG-certified pieces of sports history include an autographed NBA Official Scorers Sheet from Jordan’s career-high 69-point game.

In the summer of 2022, Certified Sports Guaranty® (CSG®) was honored to certify the authenticity and provenance of basketball superstar Michael Jordan's game-worn Air Jordan sneakers in the famed Dynasty Collection™. Now, CSG has certified additional mementos from Jordan’s career, including signed items from some of his most iconic games.

CSG recently certified two items from Jordan’s career-best 69-point game on March 28, 1990, in which the Chicago Bulls defeated the Cleveland Cavaliers 117-113 in overtime. Following the victory, the perennial All-Star signed and inscribed an NBA Official Scorers Sheet from the record-setting game.

Michael Jordan finished the game shooting 23-for-37 while knocking down 21 of his 23 free throws. He scored consistently throughout the matchup, scoring 16 points in the first quarter, 15 points in the second quarter, 20 points in the third quarter, 10 points in the fourth quarter and an additional eight points in overtime. Further, Jordan pulled in 18 rebounds, which made him one of only six players in NBA history to score 60-plus points and grab 10-plus rebounds since 1986.

His 69-point performance would go down in the history books as one of the many legendary moments from Jordan’s astounding NBA career. Those in attendance knew the game’s significance right away, as they had Michael Jordan sign and inscribe an official NBA Scorekeepers Sheet after his historic performance.

“I didn’t think about being tired because I wanted to win the game,” Jordan said after the overtime win, according to NBA.com. “I’ve been in that situation where I’ve scored a lot of points and we lost, and I didn’t want that to happen. So, I kept pushing myself, kept talking to myself, saying, ‘Don’t stop, don’t stop. Keep going.’ You feel better about the effort when you win.”

Additionally, CSG certified another item from a different record-setting game of Michael Jordan’s NBA career. On January 9, 1991, the shooting guard dropped 40 points, which put him over the 15,000-point mark. He became the second-fastest player in league history to reach 15,000 points (460 games), which trailed only Wilt Chamberlain (358 games). Following the 107-99 win against the Philadelphia 76ers, Jordan signed the Game Notes from the matchup.

CSG also certified Michael Jordan’s 1990-91 NBA Awards Official Player Ballot, which Jordan himself signed and completed in his own handwriting. Players weren’t allowed to vote for themselves or their teammates, so Jordan chose forwards Charles Barkley and Karl Malone, guards Kevin Johnson and Joe Dumars and center David Robinson. Jordan added forward Derrick Coleman as his pick for Rookie of the Year, and he selected Charles Barkley once again as the Player of the Year before signing his name and writing ‘Chicago Bulls’ at the bottom of the ballot.

"CSG is honored to have been trusted to certify these additional pieces of sports history, which represent a direct link to Michael Jordan," said Andy Broome, Vice President of CSG. "Our expert team confirmed the authenticity and preserved the provenance of these vital mementos from the career of one of the greatest athletes of all time."

CSG's certification of these mementos signed by Jordan follows the overwhelming success of the Dynasty Collection, arguably the most important grouping of game-worn sneakers. For the first time ever, six different game-worn Air Jordan sneakers from his six championship-clinching games were gathered in a single collection. CSG experts certified the historic sneaker collection before they were displayed to the public in July 2022.

The Chicago Bulls selected Michael Jordan with the No. 3 overall pick of the 1984 NBA Draft. He quickly became one of the most dominant scorers the game had ever seen.

Following Jordan’s 2003 retirement, he ended his pro career with six NBA titles, six Finals MVPs, five MVPs, 14 All-Star selections and three All-Star Game MVPs. He won 10 scoring titles and is a two-time Slam Dunk Contest champion. Among numerous post-retirement honors, he was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2009 and received the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2016.
