Rare CSG-certified 2018 Kylian Mbappé Rookie Card Realizes Over $15,000

A rare 2018 Kylian Mbappé rookie card that is authenticated and graded by Certified Sports Guaranty® (CSG®) sold for $15,100 in an eBay auction on September 4, 2022. The 2018 Panini Prizm World Cup #80 Kylian Mbappé Camo card is increasingly sought after as Mbappé’s star continues to rise in the global soccer scene.

The 2018 Panini Prizm set was released to celebrate the 32 teams that qualified for that year’s FIFA World Cup. The set included a 300-card base set and “Prizm” variations that gave each card a unique holographic backing. This Mbappé rookie card features the rare Camo Prizm background; there were only 20 Mbappé camo cards in the set, adding to the rarity of this particular card.
Kylian Mbappé is regarded as one of the greatest soccer (football) players in the world. He began his career at age 16 playing in Ligue 1 for Monaco. In 2017, he signed for league rivals Paris Saint-Germain, where he remains to this day. He is also well-known for representing France in several FIFA World Cups.
Mbappé has gone on to earn several awards and mentions during his career, including the Golden Boy in 2017. He has also been named the FIFA FIFProWorld11 in 2018 and 2019 and the Globe Soccer Best Player of the Year in 2021, along with several other accolades. He was also the youngest French goal scorer in World Cup history, having scored the goal that secured France’s victory over Peru in the 2018 FIFA World Cup at only 19 years old.
Today, Mbappé continues to play for Paris Saint-Germain while also representing France in international championships. The famed soccer player is set to play in the 2022 FIFA World Cup in November.
There are currently two of these Kylian Mbappé Panini Prizm World Cup Camo cards in the CSG Population Report. Both are graded CSG Gem Mint 10, with none graded higher.
Note: CSG revised its grading scale in March 2022. The grade “Gem Mint” was moved to 10, so cards that were previously graded CSG Gem Mint 9.5 are now CSG Gem Mint 10. Learn more >
